Welcome to the Centre of Hope

The Centre of Hope is a Non-Profit-Organisation that works hand in hand with the Doctors who head Up the HIV/AIDS Department at Stanger Hospital. Our team has been on several training programs run at the Hospital to help us have a better understanding of the HIV/AIDS virus. Sheila has been on a three day course at the Hospital to enable us  to counsel and encourage the people effectively.

The Centre also trains Support groups , this is done by Dr. Jane Pons, Pastor Patrick and Rebecca. The groups come in for 1 day a week over a period of 6 weeks , where they are shown a vidoe on HIV/AIDS and then there is a question and answer time. We also discuss the problems that they confront in their areas and what the greatest needs are. We do not always have the answer for them but we try to assist where we can.

What we Do

1.We give out food parcels every Wednesday to the Adults who have to go onto the ARV drug, they are unable to work and do not receive grants yet, we look to the public sector for any kind of support they can give us in this area, we are not sponsored by the Government or the business sector.

2. The Centre also offers help to the Hospital with the Children affected by HIV/AIDS in the area yohgurt, friuts, and little treats like biscuits, and sweeties, even a food parcel for a child when the child is released from the hospital. Often when released from the hospital they lack the right nutritional food and land up back in hospital more ill more than when they left !

3. The Centre has been donated 8 acres of property just outside Stanger which needs to be developed as a safe haven, there are small buildings already on the property in need of renovation to enable us to take in those who have been rejected by their families and friends when they get to hear that they are HIV/AIDS affected, they do not know where to go and find themselves on the streets with no money and no source of income! At the Farm they will be loved and encouraged and they will also be taught crafts and farming to help them earn an income to support themselves. Will You Help Us To Help Them ? Sponsorship in anyway is greatly appreciated, wether it be in finances or food items, clothing. (Adults and Children) They will receive vocational training to give them economic and financial independence so that they can regain their dignity, and  be re-integrated back  into the society as assets and not liabilities
